Will I experience any pain or discomfort during the appointment?

No. It is such a comfortable process, most of my clients are so relaxed that they fall asleep. During the application, you are reclined in a recliner chair, blankets and/or pillows will be provided if needed and your eyes will be closed the entire appointment. Very similar experience as going for a professional facial.

What are the eyelash extensions made of?

The eyelash extensions are made of premium synthetic materials. They are nylon based with an organic silk core. I use hypoallergenic, CRUELTY FREE, machine cut mink lashes.

How long do they last?

Eyelash extensions will last the length of the natural growth cycle of your own eyelashes. Depending on your activity and day-to-day routine, refills should only be required every 2 to 4 weeks to keep them looking nice and full.

How do they feel when wearing them?

They feel very light, so you can’t feel them. Most clients tell me they are wearing less makeup since having eyelash extensions applied. You will leave having no lashes clumped together.

How long does it take to apply a full set of lash extensions?

Expect anywhere from 2 to 3 hours for a full set. The length of time is dependant on how many natural eyelashes you have! The more natural lashes you have, the longer it will take.

How many lashes make a full set?

This is different for everyone, some people have thick dense lashes, and some have light to normal lashes. Generally, 60-120 lashes per eye can be expected.

Can I use eye makeup remover?

I recommend only using a specially formulated lash cleanser on the eyelashes themselves. A water based makeup remover can be used on the lid with a cotton round, be careful to steer clear of your lashes and be very careful to not use oils!

Can I wear makeup when having my eyelashes applied?

The eyelashes must be clean and clear of all makeup and oils. Avoid wearing water proof mascara 2-3 days before your appointment. Makeup elsewhere on your face is absolutely fine!

Do I need to wear mascara or use an eyelash curler after eyelash extensions?

I don't recommend it. Wearing mascara in addition to extensions can actually shorten the lifespan of your extensions. Long-term use of mascara with your extensions may lead to product build-up. Not only will this get very clumpy but it may result in an eye infection. Waterproof mascara or any other type of oil-based mascara can also dissolve the bonding agent of your extensions causing them to fall off sooner. Similarly, using eyelash curlers on your extensions could possibly break your own natural lashes.

What maintenance is required?

Once you have a full set, you will require a fill every 2-4 weeks to keep your extensions looking full and to replace any lashes that have been naturally shed.

How long does it take to get fills?

Approximately 60-90 minutes depending on the amount of lashes required.

When can I not have eyelash extensions applied?

If you have any eye irritations or infections or experience allergies pertaining to products being applied to your skin or hair.

Eyelash extension aftercare?

Please refer to my After Care Blog Post.

Will eyelash extensions interrupt the growth of my natural lashes?

Eyelash extensions are only applied on fully grown lashes that have completed their full growth cycle. The emerging baby lashes are not touched at all because they are simply not strong enough to hold an extension. So, rest assured while you go about with gorgeous, fluffy lash extensions your baby lashes continue to grow without interruption.

Will eyelash extensions cause my lashes to fall off?

NO, correctly applied eyelash extensions will not damage your natural lashes even a little bit. While having extensions, the natural shedding process is still taking place and lashes do fall off. This leaves a noticeable gap in a lash line as a lash extension comes off with a shedded lash. Some people think that the extension caused the loss of a natural lash when in reality, the natural lash takes down the extension with it.

Can I swim, spa or have a facial service while wearing extensions?

Yes, eyelash extensions can keep up with your busy lifestyle. However, salt water and chlorine will slowly begin to break down the adhesive. The best way to avoid this is to wash your lashes directly after swimming, preferably with a lash cleanser but if not just rinse them off with clean water.

Is the adhesive safe?

Yes, only professional medical-grade, latex and formaldehyde free adhesive is used and purchased from the supplier. NO Amazon glues here! The adhesive never comes in contact with your skin, extensions are placed 1-2mm from your lash line and should never come in contact with your eyelid. Please let me know before booking a full set if you may have an allergy so that a patch test can be performed.

What should I do if I have an allergic reaction to the adhesive?

If you suspect you may be allergic, a patch test can be performed prior to your full set appointment. If a reaction does occur please do not hesitate to seek medical attention, I am not qualified to diagnose or treat anything. I have seen others have success with taking Benadryl (or a similar medication) which helps reduce swelling, redness and block from further reactions. However, it is not a solve all solution. Unfortunately, people can still have reactions and the lashes may need to be removed.

I slept on my lashes now they are laying funny what can I do?

Usually a good thorough wash using your lash shampoo and soft lash shampoo brush will fix this problem. Be sure to not apply any heat and allow them to air dry or use a handheld fan.

Do I need to take a break from my lashes, if so how often?

Every 6 months to a year, a two week break can be beneficial but is not necessary. This depends on the health of your natural lashes, your age, lifestyle, etc.

What happens if I choose to have my eyelash extensions removed?

I do offer a service to have the extensions removed involving a short 30 minute appointment in which I apply a cream remover. The cream remover is applied on top of the extensions without touching the skin and allowed to sit for 10 minutes. Once the adhesive is dissolved the extensions are gently wiped away with lint free applicators exposing the natural lashes.

Do you offer foreign fills?

Yes! However, I will need to pre-approve the appointment. Please send a message via Instagram with an attached close up photo of your current lash extensions. If your lashes from another artist are poking, hurting you, feel heavy, or causing irritation chances are they have not been applied correctly. In those situations, you will need to book a removal + full set. I will not charge for the removal in these circumstances.
