So you’ve booked your appointment, woo hoo! Here is a list of DO’s and DON’TS so you can show up fully prepared.

DO:

Wear comfortable clothing. You will be laying down for 2-3 hours, comfortable clothes will allow you to make the most of this time to relax and be pampered. I keep the lash room at 68°F which can be chilly for some people (me included). I have clean blankets to provide or if you prefer, you can bring your own or wear long sweats/bring a sweater.

Remove your contacts. Your eyes will be closed during the application of your eyelash extensions. To avoid any discomfort, it is always suggested that contacts are removed allowing eyes to be comfortable in a natural and rested state. Feel free to bring your solution and tray to your appointment and remove them in the washroom. I do have some clients that prefer to leave their contacts in, that is totally up to you!

Turn off your cellphone just prior to your appointment. Silent mode works too. This is truly a time to sit back and relax. Ringing cellphones will only interrupt your treatment. Enjoy the “me” time, and let your lash transformation begin.

Bring Headphones. Feel free to bring headphones to listen to your own music, podcast, or a lecture. If you choose not to bring headphones I will have relaxing music playing or suggest a good podcast to me and we can listen together!

Be prepared to keep your eyes closed. Your eyes MUST remain closed for the entirety of the appointment. It is very dangerous to open your eyes at any point as I will be holding sharp tweezers and fumes from the glue will cause irritation to an open eye. At the end of the appointment I will apply a specially formulated glue sealer to lock in any remaining fumes as well as fan dry your lashes. Only then is it safe to open your eyes and I will instruct you to do so.

DON’T:

Wear makeup. Makeup products worn close to the eye will need to be removed prior to the lash application process. Coming to your appointment with a clean eye area is an absolute MUST. You can wear makeup else wear if you choose, just make sure that your under eyes, eye lid, and lashes are makeup free.

Drink Caffeine. Trust me I know this is hard (I cannot drink caffeine on lash days either, otherwise my hands shake). Consuming caffeine before your appointment will usually cause your eyes to twitch and flutter, which makes getting perfect attachment very difficult for me. Also, the goal is to relax and possibly fall asleep which is more challenging when you’re caffeinated.

Apply face creams or sunblock to the eye area. The oils within many moisturizers and sunblock can prevent the eyelash glue from properly adhering to your natural lashes, dramatically reducing the longevity of your eyelash extensions. Skincare products can be applied elsewhere on the face but steer clear of your eye area including your under eyes and eyelid.

Wear mascara. Lashes must be fresh and clean in order to be properly prepped to receive eye lash extension. Absolutely no mascara!

Have your hair styled. Or if you do, at least be okay with it getting a little smushed since you will be laying down for an extended period of time. If you have a low to mid ponytail/bun you will need to take it out and bangs will need to be swept or clipped away from your forehead.

Curl your lashes on the day of your lash application. We need your eyelashes to be in the most natural and healthy state they can prior to your lash extension application.  Please do not curl your eyelashes, or use any other manipulation on them the day of your appointment.

Help me help you! If you follow these guidelines your appointment will be comfortable and problem free. :)
